It is very important to keep your iPad and Macbook Laptop up to date for optimal performance and for security reasons.

Tech department will usually send out an email alerting school staff about updates for the iPad and Macbook laptop iOS update.  However, you can also check on your own by going to Settings, General, Software Update on both devices. You will have a message that tells you an update is available or that your software is up to date.

To update your device:

Go to Settings, General, and Software Update. If your iPad is up to date, it will tell you. If not, you can download and install the available update.

App Updates

You are responsible for keeping your iPad’s apps up to date. You can do this by going to the App Store and tapping on updates. There will be a list there of apps that need to be updated. You will also notice the App Store icon might have a red number on it; this indicates how many apps you need to update.

Generally speaking, if your iPad needs to be updated, several of your apps will follow with updates of their own.

Keeping apps up to date is critical for performance and security reasons.
